Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (do not substitute)
- 2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 4 tablespoons whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the dark brown sugar and corn syrup. Mix well and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
- Once boiling, add the sweetened condensed milk. Continue to cook and stir for 5–7 minutes until thickened slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the whipping cream, vanilla, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. It will thicken more as it cools.
Storage Tips
- Refrigerate: Store in a jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- To Reheat: Warm gently in a saucepan or microwave before serving.
