Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups beef stock
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into small pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef or Italian sausage with diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the crock pot.
- Add crushed tomatoes, beef stock, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in broken lasagna noodles.
- Cook until noodles are tender.
- Serve hot with a spoonful of ricotta, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil on top.
