Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (plus more for topping)
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for greasing)
- 1 ½ cups marinara sauce (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a large baking dish or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix just until combined — don’t overwork the meat.
- Form into meatballs (about 1 ½ inches in diameter) and place evenly spaced in the baking dish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until browned and cooked through (internal temp: 160°F / 71°C).
- Optional: In the last 5 minutes, top each meatball with extra mozzarella and bake until melted.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce, pasta, or on toasted buns as sliders.
