Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- ½ cup plain breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup barbecue sauce, plus extra for topping
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Extra shredded cheddar cheese, for topping
- Extra crispy bacon strips, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or small baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, barbecue sauce, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon until evenly distributed.
- Shape the mixture into one loaf or divide it into slider-sized portions and place them in the prepared baking dish.
- Brush the top lightly with additional barbecue sauce.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Top with extra cheddar cheese during the last 5 minutes of baking and return to the oven until melted.
- Garnish with crispy bacon strips and allow the meatloaf to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, fries, or slider buns for a fun cheeseburger-inspired meal.
