- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

- ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast
Combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5–10 minutes until foamy. - Prepare the Dough
Mix together the flour, salt, mashed banana, egg, softened butter, and yeast mixture. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. - First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size. - Make the Filling
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Roll the dough into a large rectangle and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture and pecans if using. - Shape the Rolls
Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal rolls. Arrange them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. - Second Rise
Cover and let the rolls rise for 30–40 minutes until puffy. - Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes or until lightly golden. - Prepare the Frosting
Beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and creamy. - Finish
Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
Helpful Tips
- Use very ripe bananas for the richest flavor.
- Avoid adding too much flour to keep the rolls soft.
