- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup orzo
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 cup yellow onion, diced
- 3 bell peppers, diced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 14 oz petite diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add diced onion and bell peppers and cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
- Stir in marinara sauce, petite diced tomatoes, chicken bouillon powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the orzo and stir well to combine. Pour in chicken broth if the mixture looks too thick.
- Cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot.
